Higher education in India is witnessing a continuous escalation that is noticeable in the mushrooming institutions and up gradation of the existing ones. Mahatma Hansraj Faculty Development Centre is one such initiate of MHRD, Govt. of India, that works under the PMMMNMTT scheme of the government. The Centre endeavors to contribute to the holistic growth and development of teaching community through a blend of learning programmes such as FDPs, FIPs, Workshops and Seminars. The approach followed is primarily participatory and the same is manifested in the programmes via lectures from eminent speakers, use of advanced ICT tools and CAS, field visits, discussion on open problems, access to library resources, presentations by the participants, panel discussions and interactive sessions with learned resource persons from diverse institutions across the country.
The Centre organizes programmes from time to time that are sponsored by MHRD and also works in collaboration with institutions across the nation, largely focusing on participation from areas like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chattisgarh etc. The main objective of the centre is to identify the skill deficit in the teachers & teaching and work towards overall professional development of the teaching community.
The whole MHRFDC Team works with serious and sustained efforts to ply and put into effect its proposed objectives. I congratulate the Centre Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Bhola and her team for their meticulous functioning and determined attempt in taking the centre a step up with every programme. It is indeed the dedicated effort of the team that is reflected in the huge success of the centre in this small span of time. I wish them best of luck for all the future programmes and a happy learning experience to all the participants in the prospective programmes. Good luck!
